One year ago today, Loretta & I sold our store & retired.
I’d not thrown darts for a couple of months, so while we were waiting around the store, I grabbed a set off the counter and went over to the dartboard. New owner Chris was practicing on the next board.
Six warmup darts later, I hit a Ton-80.
That seemed an auspicious moment to end 49 years in the Darts business, so I put the darts away.
A short time later, we gave the keys to the new owners, took a last look through the front windows, and walked away to begin our new “journey”.

Rick’s Darts & Games
Here are a few photos of Rick’s Darts & Games, before we sold the business on July 1, 2023.
Under new owners, the store will soon look completely different.

Retired!
After 49 incredible years at Rick’s Darts & Games, Loretta & I are retiring.
Both of us will sorely miss regularly seeing our many loyal customers & friends, but retirement brings a new chapter in our lives. We’re looking forward to spending more time with family and pursuing personal interests.
With nearly 5 decades of great memories & friendships, we are very grateful for the incredible community support that enabled our success.
Thanks, Y’all!

Smoke & Flooding!
On May 28, 2023, our neighboring store, a print shop, caught fire & burned. Rick’s Darts & Games was filled with noxious smoke and partially flooded due to a broken water pipe.
What a mess! The mess, and smell, was far more that we could handle alone, so a remediation company was called. Over the next few weeks, they completely cleaned the store, then replaced the ceiling tiles, insulation, and carpet.
Two months later, the store is still a disorganized mess, but at least it is now clean and no longer smells of smoke!
